More About Us
The values of God-centered worship and Christ-centered preaching in the context of a biblically functioning community represents an intentional, Scripturally informed approach of reaching people with the transforming Gospel of God's amazing grace. We will explore each of these aspects of our Church's mission for you below.
God-Centered Worship is focus of our experience together as a covenant Church community. We are God's people living in a world that worships everything but God. However, we place the highest priority on worshipping Him.
We know that God relishes the praises of His people.God-centered worship creates an experience that even nonbelievers will confess that "God is among us." (1 Corth. 14:25)
Christ-Centered Preaching is the natural outgrowth of the God-centered worship service. We are a Bible believing church, focused on spreading the good news of Jesus Christ's gift of salvation. God's Holy Spirit illuminates His Word to us. Thus, in our preaching we must preach only "Christ and him crucified" [1 Corinthians 2:2]. We have nothing to preach other than God's Word in our mission to reach our community and the greater Chicago community for Christ.
We hold that God's Word is totally true and is without error. Our mission as a Church is to preach and proclaim the whole Word of God from Genesis to Revelation.
A Biblically Functioning Community supports the whole Church family.
This includes the smallest infants, children, teens, singles, families, retirees, and the elderly. Our goal is to create a nurturing, stimulating, environment for ages so that authentic relationships can develop. We seek to create a Biblically functioning community in all aspects of Church life including a safe, caring atmosphere in the nursery, exciting teen activities, close-knit small groups, Bible studies, effective biblical counseling ministries, or compassionate outreach programs. We seek to create a Biblically functioning community in all aspects of Church life.
In Acts 2:42-47, we read of a true sense of community that God uses to spread the Gospel. Outsiders looking in on a Biblically functioning community can observe this radical generosity of caring, and sharing found among Christians. God uses covenant community to reach the lost, as they are drawn to join God's forever family.
