  • Psalm 103

    1 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
    and all that is within me,
    bless his holy name!
    2 Bless the LORD, O my soul,
    and forget not all his benefits,
    3 who forgives all your iniquity,
    who heals all your diseases,
    4 who redeems your life from the pit,
    who crowns you with steadfast love and mercy,
    5 who satisfies you with good
    so that your youth is renewed like the eagle’s.

    6 The LORD works righteousness
    and justice for all who are oppressed.
    7 He made known his ways to Moses,
    his acts to the people of Israel.
    8 The LORD is merciful and gracious,
    slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love.
    9 He will not always chide,
    nor will he keep his anger forever.
    10 He does not deal with us according to our sins,
    nor repay us according to our iniquities.
    11 For as high as the heavens are above the earth,
    so great is his steadfast love toward those who fear him;
    12 as far as the east is from the west,
    so far does he remove our transgressions from us.
    13 As a father shows compassion to his children,
    so the LORD shows compassion to those who fear him.
    14 For he knows our frame;
    he remembers that we are dust.

    15 As for man, his days are like grass;
    he flourishes like a flower of the field;
    16 for the wind passes over it, and it is gone,
    and its place knows it no more.
    17 But the steadfast love of the LORD is from everlasting to everlasting on those who fear him,
    and his righteousness to children’s children,
    18 to those who keep his covenant
    and remember to do his commandments.
    19 The LORD has established his throne in the heavens,
    and his kingdom rules over all.

    20 Bless the LORD, O you his angels,
    you mighty ones who do his word,
    obeying the voice of his word!
    21 Bless the LORD, all his hosts,
    his ministers, who do his will!
    22 Bless the LORD, all his works,
    in all places of his dominion.
    Bless the LORD, O my soul!

    Prayers of Praise

    Scripture and Devotional - Colossians 4:2-4

    2 Continue steadfastly in prayer, being watchful in it with thanksgiving. 3 At the same time, pray also for us, that God may open to us a door for the word, to declare the mystery of Christ, on account of which I am in prison— 4 that I may make it clear, which is how I ought to speak.

    Ways to Pray

    • Pray for the relationships built through the evangelism surveys.  Pray for wisdom, faith, and creativity as we continue to pursue these people.  Pray for those who are doing follow up studies that God would open a door for his word to bear fruit in people’s lives.
    • Pray for the hearts of everyone at Trinity. Pray that God would move in us that we would increasingly participate and join in with our diaconal team as they lead us to show the beauty and love of Jesus to the world around us. Pray that a majority of our congregation would be involved in mercy ministry.
    • Ask the Holy Spirit to increase our faith and expand our imagination as we think “what is possible” with respect to mercy ministry that results in gospel transformation where people are being saved and brought into the church.
    • Pray for continued wisdom for our diaconal team as they work to mobilize and direct our church toward serving and caring for those who are in need and struggling.
    • Pray for our church and our leaders at every level (pastors, session, women shepherding team, diaconate team) that God would grow us in holiness and pour out his Spirit richly on us that we would have the wisdom to love our communities in word and deed in a way that is truly effective.
    • Pray for those in our area who lack good employment opportunities, who lack shelter, who struggle financially, who lack the warmth of friends and family especially with COVID and the isolation of winter in a pandemic.
    • Pray for the missions team and our congregation as we raise money to provide 500 Bible's for the orphans and staff at the Cavaillon Childrens' Village in Haiti.  Pray for all who will use these Bibles to grow in their ability to read and to cherish God's Word.
